Every month in this newsletter we proudly introduce an amazing nonprofit organization to our readers. However, we are departing a little from that tradition in order to highlight those special organizations whose leaders served as panelists at our Symposium.

nourish.NJ 

This organization creates lasting solutions to the problems of hunger, homelessness and poverty by offering food, housing, work readiness, medical, social and educational services 365 days a year in a warm, safe and caring environment, free of charge, no questions asked. 

In addition to serving more than 75,000 breakfasts and lunches and providing more than 500,000 pounds of food for guests to take home, they also nourish the souls and minds of their guests by offering support such as:

  • Housing assistance
  • Mental health and substance abuse counseling
  • Employment counseling
  • Outreach to veterans
  • Resource connection and assistance with benefits, such as food stamps and Medicaid
  • Free Farmer’s Markets three times a week which provide fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy items and meat for guests to take home
  • Emergency assistance for food, clothing and basic necessities

Cornerstone Family Programs and Morristown Neighborhood House

Founded after the War of 1812, Cornerstone Family Programs has been important to the Morristown community for over 200 years. Formerly known as Family Service of Morris County, and finally Cornerstone Family Programs in 2013, the organization has garnered a legacy as a part of the Morristown community.

With full participation from the Board of Directors, community planning and engagement, and staff education and development, they continue to build and expand this incredible this legacy. Today Cornerstone Family Programs and Morristown Neighborhood House provide resources to people from age 2 to 102 in the Greater Morris County area, impacting the lives of over 6,000 people, advancing their mission: Strengthening Communities by Helping People Build Better Lives.
